New Academy Games Kickstarter - Live and Funded!
We launched a new Kickstarter yesterday for our newest game, One Small Step - an epic engine-building, worker placement Eurogame which pits two teams against each other in the race to land on the moon. It has already funded and we have unlocked a couple of stretch goals with more to come.
The Early Bird special lasts until the anniversary of the moon landing on the 20th of July.

Easily see how many men your leaders have in their armies with these custom stackable Army Tokens!
You no longer need to count out miniatures and line them up on your Leader's card. Now each Leader's army strength is easy to see and move! If you wish to leave a man behind, take off an Army Token and replace it with a miniature in the Shire they will occupy.

The Vikings Are Invading Italy!

After a long, arduous journey, 878 Vikings has invaded Italy. Even Vikings have to contend with customs apparently, though they are diligent and finally broke through the shield wall.
The shipment from Germany has finally arrived in Italy and Wyrd is currently making preparations to fulfill the Kickstarter orders. 878 Strategy Guide by Gunter Eickert
There are three different strategies that I like to play when I play as the Vikings. I will not say which is the best because that is for you to determine yourself when playing. First, though, I want to go over some of the big strategic mistakes many first-time players make.
Don’t overextend your first invading Leader.
The English look weak at the beginning of the game and it is tempting to use all your movements to take as many English cities as possible but the English get to roll first and they will get the support of Fyrd Units. You want to keep your only leader on the board strong enough so that the English cannot counter attack him and remove him from the game in the first Round. You also want to keep your leader threatening enough that the English must worry about where he could attack. There is no rush to take cities to win the game since the game is at least 5 Rounds long.
If you follow this first advice, all three strategies that I will cover could work for you.
